3 bits of news

Sendlinger Tor's makeover

Sendlinger Tor subway station is not just your regular transit hub anymore. As of December 12, the mezzanine with new shops was officially opened.

So, what's in store for you?

Well, from groceries to magazines, there's a little bit of everything to spice up your daily commute. And it’s open from 8am to 8pm.

We've all seen the Sendlinger Tor station evolve over nearly seven years of renovations. And for those of us who've been navigating the construction maze, the most significant relief is here: the heavy-duty work is almost done.

However there's still a bit of construction left to wrap up on the ceilings, façades, and a couple more entrances coming in 2024.

Munich to Hamburg: Travel in luxury

Photo by Simon Tartarotti on Unsplash

Starting from December 2023, the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) is rolling out their brand-spanking-new Nightjet trains on the Innsbruck-Munich-Hamburg route.

This isn't your typical night train snooze; it's a mini-holiday on wheels. These new trains offer individual mini cabins – a compact, personal space with all you need for a peaceful night's journey. Think storage area, a foldable table, reading lamp, and even coat hooks. It's like the train version of a tiny house.

Now, let's talk costs because, yes, luxury comes with a price tag. While the starting fares are reasonable, the ticket prices can climb higher depending on demand and booking time. So planning ahead could save you a few bucks.

Munich to welcome Harry Potter

Fellow Muggles of Munich, we have another Harry Potter event to look forward to. Dust off your wands and don your house scarves, because next year from May 10, the kleine Olympiahalle will transform into a wonderland for Harry Potter fans.

This isn't just any exhibition; it's the most comprehensive dive into the Potterverse yet, featuring iconic moments, characters, and even creatures from both the "Harry Potter" and "Fantastic Beasts" series. This exhibition comes for the first time to Germany and promises to bewitch everyone with its fun, illusions and behind-the-scenes glimpses.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 15 – so mark your calendar and be ready to snag yours.

Get your tickets here and learn more about the exhibition here.
