Want to see the best view of Oktoberfest?

We all know that Oktoberfest is here but if you fancy a great view of the Wiesn from above, Paulskirche tower has reopened for the occasion.

This year, the 97m tower will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. throughout Oktoberfest.

Olympia Park’s SoccArena & Ice Sports Center are open again

Many facilities at Olympia Park were closed for 2 years due to Covid restrictions.

Now, the SoccArena and the Olympic Ice Sports Center have reopened. Summer seems to be over anyway, so get out your ice skates. Winter sport enthusiasts can skate every day beginning September 12th at the Olympic rink.

Inflation in Germany rose again to 7.9 percent in August 2022

“Price increases for fuel and food continue to be the main cause of high inflation,” wrote Dr. Georg Thiel, president of the Federal Statistical Office, in a press release. “Two measures in the relief package in particular had only a slightly dampening effect on overall inflation from June to August 2022: the 9-euro ticket and the fuel discount.”

Fuel prices increased by 35.6 percent compared to this time last year and food prices rose by 16.6 percent between August 2021 and August 2022.

Everything you need to know about Germany’s Oktoberfest

If you are planning to really immerse yourself in Oktoberfest this year, here are two events Christina recommends:

• Oktoberfest-Auftakt 2022: Saturday, September 17, (tomorrow) at 10:45 a.m.

  • Why? The brewers set out for the fair grounds with festively decorated wagons and horses and carts. It’s super fun to watch.

  • Where: From Josephspitalstraße via Sonnenstraße, Schwanthalerstraße and Bavariaring to the festival grounds.

• The traditional costume and riflemen's parade: Sunday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m.

  • Why? 9,000 participants from traditional costume and rifle clubs, musicians and marching bands come from all across Europe. Each group is dressed in stunning medieval garb.

  • Where: The route from from Maximilianstraße through the old town to the Theresienwiese.

HeyLuigi in Munich’s Glockenbach neighborhood, has always been known for good pasta and intimidatingly large portions, but with the recent "relaunch" of their menu, the culinary offer is now on a whole new level.

PS It’s still great for a casual night out.

One reviewer said, “The menu has a variety of Italian meals so you will definitely find your favorite! My favorites are the salads and gluten-free options.The place can be a bit loud when it’s full but there is also a lovely terrace outside. It’s good to make reservations before you go.”

It has a great selection of Italian dishes and drinks, an original setting, and a nice atmosphere. Great for groups.
