3 bits of news

No more parking at Gärtnerplaz

Gärtnerplatz will soon become a “superblock” – this means it will be car-free. Pedestrians and cyclists will have the right of way here. Only residents and vans can enter, and the speed limit will be no faster than ten kilometers per hour. Other traffic will have to go around the outside of this block.

Fun fact, I love the Gärtnerplaz, and I think this is the right decision. People can finally hang there. I took part in a flash mob there a few years ago – here’s the video for you.

DB to offer 1 million extra ICE tickets for just 17,90 euros each way

It was revealed on Tuesday that DB has started year-end marketing for its 17,90 Euro Super Saver tickets. Deutsche Bahn will make 1 million extra super saver tickets available to passengers throughout the course of the next week (until November 15).

The 17,90 euro tickets are suitable for one-way trips within Germany on second-class carriages. Children under 14 traveling with an adult will be admitted free of charge. If you don't mind paying more, you can upgrade super saver tickets to first class, which includes a seat reservation.

So what does it mean for you?

  • You can book round trip tickets and buy now from the DB website

  • The date has to be set (you can’t change it)

  • There are only 1mn extra tickets (so buy now)

We are buying some, and so should you.

Prepare for winter with a cause

The MS BAZAR supports the vast spectrum of services provided by the DMSG, Landesverband Bayern.

One of the first organizations in Germany to provide help to those with multiple sclerosis is the German Multiple Sclerosis Society (DMSG). Bayern's Landesverband e.V. has spent over 60 years providing care for MS patients throughout Bavaria. At the moment, there are about 7,200 members.

More than 200 affiliated self-help groups and eight centers provide visitors with orientation, support, and advice, as well as assistance in setting up social assistance and services and, in some circumstances, benefits in kind and financial aid.

Mamas Küche

Our mothers create dishes from Turkish and Oriental cuisine at "Mama's Kitchen" for you. They also do it with a strong enthusiasm for wholesome cuisine.

It's excellent for our Muslim friends - Mama's Küche belongs to the Munich Forum for Islam (MFI), an association for Munich Muslims, with prayer and event rooms and offices. It is a family business, "mum and boss" Seher Malak is at the stove and cooks typical dishes here, using only fresh ingredients.
